Biomass Fuels

In the summer of 2016, P Irving and Sons invested in the purchase and installation of two ETA HACK 499Kw boilers that run three Woodtek chip drying systems.

This new installation allows us to dry a proportion of our G30 woodchips to a moisture below 25 degrees and has helped us to develop our product range further whilst consuming some of our co-product on site - all of which also means there are less wagons on the road! This fuel is supplied with a BSL number for your RHI claim.

Cant Rustic Sleepers

Our rustic cant sleepers offer a great alternative to our squared option for customers seeking a more natural-looking product.

Hard-wearing and very solid, you can still use them as steps into a garden or build them up in layers to create attractive bedding areas for plants or vegetables.

Please also note that these are 100% natural wood and are not treated with any stain or preservative.

Cladding

If you are looking to clad an agricultural building, or something a bit smaller, we can cut various lengths and widths of cladding to suit.

Tip: using natural Larch or Cedar will offer great visual impact whilst still keeping the the cladding durable. These species both weather beautifully over the years whilst retaining their protective qualities.

Wooden cladding is a product which is not a stock item, but is one which can be produced to customers' requirements at relatively short notice. If you can contact us as early as possible when planning your project then we can ensure that your timber cladding is ready on time and to your specification.

Bark

Our bark is used for horticultural purposes and is great to suppress weeds, increase the soil temperature and reducing water evaporation. It is a also a great product for landscaping and adding variation to the garden.

Square Sleepers

Wooden sleepers are a great product to transform your garden or the landscape. Hard-wearing, these will weather naturally and beautifully, as well as maintaining their structure for many years to come.

Whether you use them as steps into a garden or build them up in layers to create a bedding area for plants or vegetables, our sleepers will do the job.

Please also note that these are 100% natural wood and are not treated with any stain or preservative.

Blended Chip

We blend a small proportion of bark into our woodchips to offer a more decorative woodchip which is commonly used in the landscaping sector. It spreads a bit easier than bark whilst still having some of the same visual aesthetics.

Peeled Woodchip

Our peeled woodchip is a primary co-product in the making of sawn timber.

It has been screened free of bark and sawdust and is used in a variety of forms, from the production of chipboard, equine surfaces to large scale energy plants.

Double Waney

We produce a thin waney board which keeps the rustic characteristics of the log. These are used in the construction of fence panels and are a useful for replacing and failed boards rather than needing a new panel.

We can also produce long, wide and thick sections of waney boards which could be used for more bespoke designs.

Oversize Sections

We have recently invested in saw milling machinery that can cut lengths up to 6.1m.

This machine allows us to cut logs up to 1.2m in diameter and this results in some BIG sawn sections, whether square or through and through planks.
